Greensboro, N.C. - UNCG women's tennis dropped a 5-2 decision to the Elon Phoenix Wednesday night at the UNCG Tennis Courts. The Spartans took the doubles point, but fell in five of six singles matches in the loss. UNCG falls to 3-11 on the season, while Elon improves to 11-9. 

The Spartans got the scoring started, taking two of three doubles matches to earn the first point of the afternoon. After splitting the matches at No. 1 and No. 3, the No. 2 partnership of  Emily Ory and Nancy Bridges knocked off Olivia Lucas and Erica Braschi, 6-4 to earn the point.

The singles competition didn’t go the Spartans’ way as UNCG dropped five of the six matches. Brianna Gomez earned UNCG’s victory, defeating Maria Paraja, 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 at No. 4.
