GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG women’s tennis notched its third-straight victory Sunday afternoon at the Asheville Racquet Club, defeating the UNC Asheville Bulldogs, 4-3. The Spartans improve their record to 3-2 on the season, while the Bulldogs fall to 4-3.

UNC Asheville scored the first point of the afternoon, winning No.1 and No. 3 doubles. Corinne Blythe (Leicestershire, Great Britain/Queenswood School) teamed with Alice Taylor (Cambridge, Great Britain/UMBC) to defeat Christin Louw and Lauren Watson-Steele, 6-3 at No. 2.

UNCG won four of the six singles matches to earn the point. Nancy Bridges (Shelby, N.C./Shelby) notched a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1, defeating Kylee Shipley. The Spartans took home matches No. 4-6 to earn the win. Brianna Gomez (Miami, Fla./John A. Ferguson) notched a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 6 before Sophia Adams (Miami, Fla./ TERRA Environmental Institute) and Blythe earned three-set wins to earn the victory. Adams defeated Amalie Davidsen, 1-6, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5, with Blythe earning the 2-6, 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 4 to secure the win.
