GREENSBORO, N.C. – Men’s Golf finished up the second and third rounds of the Tiger Invitational Monday at the Grand National Lake Course. UNCG finishes at 17th, moving up after finishing 18th after the first round Sunday.
The Spartans scored a 32-over par 896 score and finish at 17th place in the tournament. Tournament host Auburn continues to pace the field, shooting 13-below par, totaling 851 in the Invitational. UNCW’s Thomas Eldridge paces the individual field, shooting 13-under par with a score of 203.
Junior Josh Stockwell (Aberdeen, N.C./Pinecrest) led the Spartans individually. Stockwell tied for 39th and finishes a 5-over par after three rounds. Bryce Hendrix (Greenville, N.C./D.H. Conley) tied for 68th in the field, shooting at 226, and 10-over par.
The pair of Joseph Cansler (Clemmons, N.C./Surry CC) and Jonathan Brightwell (Charlotte, N.C./Independence) each shot 227, 11-over par in the competition.
The Tiger Invitational included host No. 23 Auburn, UNCG, Kennesaw State, Missouri, James Madison, West Virginia, Charlotte, Troy, Minnesota, UNCW, Georgia State, South Alabama, Maryland, Louisville, Mississippi State, Kansas State, Arkansas State and Davidson.
