2016 SoCon Honor Roll
2018 (Junior): Finished off the season ranked among the top five statistical leaders in six categories including hitting percentage (.280—2nd), solo blocks (6—2nd), assisted blocks (57—2nd), total blocks (63—2nd), blocks / set (0.65—3rd) and kills (170—4th) … finished the season ranked ninth in the SoCon in hitting percentage (.263) after recording 106 kills, 36 errors and 266 total attacks ... slammed home seven kills and assisted on three blocks in the season-opener against Air Force (Aug. 24) … responsible for five blocks (four assisted) in the 3-1 victory at Wake Forest (Aug. 25) … drove home seven kills and posted a .600 hitting percentage versus Maryland-Eastern Shore (Sept. 1) … closed out a three-set win over Delaware State (Sept. 8) with eight kills and a .467 hitting percentage to go along with two assisted blocks … highlighted a straight set win against N.C. A&T with nine kills, three blocks (two assisted) and a .692 attack percentage … closed out a two-match stretch at Kansas (Sept. 14 / 15) with a combined 10 kills and four assisted blocks … helped UNCG post its third SoCon win of the season, which came against Samford (Sept. 29), with eight kills and three assisted blocks … enjoyed a pair of nine-kill matches at Furman (Oct. 12) and Mercer (Oct. 19) … topped the double-digit mark in kills for the first time at Samford (Oct. 26), finishing with a single-match season-high 11 as she posted a .429 hitting percentage in 21 total attacks … followed that performance with a 10-kill performance at Chattanooga (Oct. 27) … eclipsed the .300 hitting percentage mark on two occasions in the final month of action against Wofford (.353; Nov. 9) and Furman (.316; Nov. 10).
2017 (Sophomore): Appeared in 21 matches, making 11 starts … recorded 67 kills and hit at a .279 percentage … recorded double digit kills in four matches… recorded 54 total blocks, 47 block assists and seven solo blocks … season-high 12 kills against ETSU (Oct. 20) … went for 11 kills the following night against Chattanooga (Oct. 21) …10 kills against Samford (Sept. 30) and Wofford (Nov. 4) … recorded five service aces during the year … recorded 27 digs … season-high six digs in a five-set match at Wofford (Oct. 6) … recorded multiple kills in 17 matches … multiple digs in seven matches … season-high six blocks assists against Samford (Oct. 27).
2016 (Freshman): Appeared in three matches, starting in a pair … played in a total of 10 sets … hit at a .163 average on 43 attacks during the season … added four block assists … went for a career-high eight kills in back-to-back games against Mercer (Sept. 30) and The Citadel (Oct. 1) … earned three block assists against The Citadel (Oct. 1) … hit at a season-high .250 average in four sets against The Citadel (Oct. 1) … added her first career dig against Mercer (Sept. 30).
Prep: Weidmann was a two-time team captain at Centennial HS … at Centennial, Weidmann set records in career kills (1,561), kills in a season (614), and kills in a match (27) … she was also holds the highest average of kills per set (6.2) in the state of Georgia along with placing in the top 50 in the country for total kills (614) according to MaxPreps … was a two-time first team All-Region selection, as well as earning team Most Valuable Player during her senior campaign … she was named Region 6A Offensive Player of the Year, as well as Division 6A first Team All-State as well as American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/Under Armour All-American Honorable Mention … one of 40 Georgia Volleyball Coaches Associations All Stars, as well as being named to an Esmark All-American … in August of 2016, Weidmann earned North Fulton Neighbor Athlete of the Week, and AVCA/MaxPreps Georgia Player of the Week … prior to her highly decorated senior campaign, she earned her team's coach's award and in her sophomore campaign finished as her team's most improved player … played five season for the A5 Volleyball Club under head coach Katie Johnson … with A5, she qualified for the USVA nationals in 2014, 2015 and in 2016 … a three-year member of student council, volunteered with FLOOD and participated in Skills USA.
Personal: She is the daughter of Ellen and Dan Weidmann and is majoring in communication studies ... born March 16, 1998.
