GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG men's golf team sits in 11^th place overall after day two of the prestigious Puerto Rico Classic Monday hosted by Purdue at the Rio-Mar River Golf Course in San Juan. The three-day, 54-hole event concludes with round three with 7:30 a.m. tee times on holes No. 12-15. Live scoring of all three rounds will be available at www.birdiefire.com.

The Spartans posted a second round score of 298 Monday and sits 13-over par 589 (291-of-298). No. 15 Alabama holds a one shot lead at 13-under par 563 (276-287) while No. 11 Clemson and No. 9 Georgia are tied for second overall at 12-under par 564.

The prestigious 15-team field includes nine teams ranked in the top 30 and all teams ranked in the top 100 by Golf Stat. Joining the 62^nd ranked Spartans in the prestigious field include No. 9 Georgia, No. 11 Clemson, No. 13 Oklahoma, No. 14 Purdue, No. 15 Alabama, No 21 North Carolina, No. 22 Kentucky, No. 29 Georgia Tech, No. 32 NC State, No. 50 Michigan, No. 56 Northwestern, No. 80 Maryland, No. 84 Virginia Tech and No. 95 Minnesota.

Sophomore Josh Stockwell (Aberdeen, N.C./Southern Pines) leads the way tied for 23^rd overall at 1-under par 143. Stockwell opened the event with a 3-under par 69 before posting a 2-over par 74 Monday. Senior Taylor Coalson (Dobson, N.C./North Surry) is tied for 44^th overall with a 3-over par 147. Coalson opened with a 1-over par 73 before carding a 2-over par 74 in round two. Coalson posted three birdies on the afternoon but was hindered by a triple-bogey on hole No. 9.

Junior Jake McGlone (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin) is tied for 53^rd overall with a 6-over par 150. McGlone posted a 2-over par 74 Sunday and a 4-over par 76 Monday. Freshmen Bryce Hendrix (Greenville, N.C./D.H. Conley) bounced back from a tough first round to card a 2-over par 74 in round two. Hendrix is tied for 60^th overall with a 9-over par 153 (79-74). Junior Riley Davis (Kinston, N.C,/UNC Pembroke) rounds out the Spartans' lineup with a 9-over par 153 as he posted rounds of 75 and 78.

Senior Luke Haithcock (Burlington, N.C./Williams) is playing in the Puerto Rico Individual and currently sits in ninth place overall. Haithcock held the first round lead after posting a 2-under par 69 before carding a 4-over par 75 in round two to sit 2-over par 144.
