GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women’s track program returned to the track this weekend at the annual Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State at Paul Derr Track. The Spartans return to the track April 4-5 at the High Point Vertklasse meet.

Senior Shannon Hall (Waldorf, Md./North Point) was the Spartans’ top finisher, placing 16th in the 800-meter Invitational race, just shy of a personal-record with a time of 2:14.17. Seniors Shaina Sumney (Washington, Pa./Trinity) and Chelsea Sumney (Washington, Pa./Trinity) ran in the 1,500-meter Invitational race. Shaina placed 40th in a time of 4:36.11 while Chelsea was 58th in a time of 4:41.12.

Sophomore Eira Jensen (Holmveien, Norway/Sortland VGS) finished 61st in the 1,500-meter College race in a time of 4:51.27. Sophomore Katlyn Ayers (Strasburg, Va./Strasburg) was 71st in the race with a tie of 4:52.74 while freshman Samiiah Wilson (Apex, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) set a new personal-best with a time of 5:04.15.

Rounding out the Spartans on the weekend was senior Kelly Montague (Garner, N.C./West Johnston). Montague placed 27th in the 5,000-meter Section D race with a time of 18:11.39.
