2016 (Freshman): Redshirted after not appearing in a contest in his rookie year.

High School: Jacobs played four seasons of varsity baseball for head coach Scott Ellis at South View High School … Before the season, was tabbed the High School All-America Second Team by Louisville Slugger … Named the Big South 4A conference Player of the Year following a senior campaign during which he hit .449 with 31 hits, 23 runs scored, 20 RBI and six doubles … Earned 2015 All-Atlantic Region Honorable Mention laurels from Perfect Game … Helped lead the Tigers to a 16-7 overall record and 9-3 conference mark … Slugged .608 and ended up with a 1.149 OPS … Entering his junior year he owned the second-highest career batting average in school history at .432 as well as the fourth-most doubles (10) and fifth-most hits (37) in a single season … Earned a number of awards in 2014, including Mid-South Conference Player of the Year, all-state team recognition, Fayetteville Observer all-region laurels, first-team all-conference honors and Mid-South Conference All-Tournament Team accolades … Named the 2014 team MVP and a team captain and was selected to the Region 4 North Carolina State Games … Also tabbed to the all-conference first team in 2013 … Competed for the Area Stars and Charlotte Megastars baseball clubs under head coaches Derick Graham and Jeff McNeely … Named team MVP and tallied the highest average and most hits on the squad … Helped the team to the 2014 North Carolina Dixie Boys state championship … Excelled in the classroom, earning A/B honor roll status for the first three years of his high school career … A member of Teen Pep, a nationally-recognized organization where students instruct freshman class members on making proper decisions in life.
