Baseball Coaching Staff
Head Coach
Link Jarrett will enter his sixth season as the head baseball coach at UNCG in 2018. Jarrett, formerly a two-time Assistant Coach of the Year award winner and offensive mastermind brought 13 prior years of coaching experience to the program, including stops at Flagler, Mercer, Florida State, East Carolina and Auburn. UNCG earned its first-ever Southern Conference Tournament title in 2017, earning the automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 1997 season. The Spartans finished 2017 36-24, marking back-to-back seasons with 36 or more wins for the second time in school history. The UNCG offense continues to prove its one of the top in the nation, leading the league in average (.320), runs (438) and triples (33). The Spartans led the NCAA in triples and triples per game, as well as being in the top 25 in the country in six offensive categories.    FULL BIO

Jerry Edwards
Assistant Coach
Jerry Edwards enters his sixth season as UNCG's pitching coach in 2018. The Spartan pitching staff continued to improve in the 2017 season, setting a school record with 19 saves and dropped its staff ERA to the lowest since the 2011 season. UNCG earned a 4.93 ERA in 524.0 innings and struck out 487 hitters. The strikeout total is the second-highest total in school history, finishing just eight behind the 2003 staff. Junior Jack Maynard earned Southern Conference All-Tournament honors after picking up a pair of saves in the Southern Conference Tournament. UNCG had six pitchers earn multiple wins during the season, led by Matt Frisbee and Dan Loats, who earned eight wins apiece. Six players also earned saves for the Spartans, led by Chad Sykes' seven. His total was the highest in a single season for an individual since Rob Gilliam saved seven games in 2008.    FULL BIO
Joey Holcomb
Assistant Coach
Joey Holcomb was promoted to the post of assistant coach and recruiting coordinator in July of 2015, and will enter his third season in the same position in 2018. He previously served three seasons as UNCG's volunteer assistant coach. UNCG finished 2017 36-24, earning 36 wins in back-to-back seasons for the second time in school history. After finishing the regular season in third place, the Spartans won their first-ever Southern Conference Tournament Championship in Greenville, S.C., making the NCAA Regionals for the first time since the 1997 season.    FULL BIO
Sean Guite
Volunteer Assistant Coach
Sean Guite enters his second season as the volunteer assistant coach for UNCG Baseball in 2017. Guite worked with the outfielders and served as the travel coordinator for the Spartans.   FULL BIO
