GREENSBORO, N.C. - Brandon Evans scored a game-high 16 points to pace four Gold squad members in double figures as the Gold team posted a 66-55 win over the White team in UNC Greensboro's annual intrasquad scrimmage.

The Gold team consisted of Evans, Darrius Sellers, Robby Dilmore, Korey Van Dussen, Montel Smith, Mike Hardiman, Ben Stywall and Pete Brown. UNCG's White squad was composed of Mikko Koivisto, Kyle Randall, Brandon Davis, Kendall Toney, Sean Spooner, Brian Cole and DeAngelo Jackson.

The game consisted of two 15-minute halves.

Stywall (15), Van Dussen (14) and Brown (12) also scored in double digits for the Gold squad. Toney led the White team with 14 points, while Cole had 12 and Koivisto added 11.

After a Toney layup with 6:36 to play put the White team up 45-43, the Gold team finished the contest on a 22-10 run to take the win. Stywall got the run started with a layup to tie it, and Van Dussen put the Gold on top to stay with a midrange jumper.

Brown pushed the lead to four points on a jumper with just under five minutes to play, but Randall converted a three-point play to get the White back within one.

Stywall and Van Dussen both sank a pair of free throws to push the Gold lead to five at 53-48 with 3:32 to play before Sellers sandwiched a layup and a dunk around a Toney jumper to make it a seven-point advantage.

Stywall's steal led to Evans' fastbreak layup with 2:11 to play, and Stywall added a layup with a minute to play to give the Gold its largest advantage of the afternoon, 61-50.

Koivisto hit a 3-pointer and a layup in the final minute of play, but it was too late, as the Gold closed the game out at the free throw line.

The White squad led by as many as eight in the first half, with Jackson's layup on a backdoor cut putting the team on top for the first time, 9-8 with 9:28 to go in the opening half. Jackson was fouled on the play, but could not complete the three-point play.

Jackson's layup sparked a 14-5 run, which Spooner punctuated with a three-point play. The Gold team would chip away at the lead, however, and Stywall's layup with 13 seconds left made the score 29-28 in the White team's favor heading into the half.

Evans, who sat out last season after transferring from East Carolina, quickly put the Gold on top in the second half, converting a pair of free throws just seven seconds into the frame to make it 30-29.

The next nine minutes saw four ties and neither team lead by more than four points before the Gold finished the game on the big run.

The Gold team was 24-for-48 from the floor (50 percent), while the White team went 24-for-49 (49 percent). The Gold team held a distinct advantage at the free throw line, going 15-for-22 (68.2 percent). The White team went to the line just three times, sinking two of its attempts.

UNCG opens the regular season on Friday. Nov. 13, at Duke. Opening tip is set for 7 p.m. The game will be televised on FSN South.
